Hotel Parque da Lagoa wishes to provide guests access to all of the many natural beauties of the region. We have a partnership with LAGOAS EXPEDIÇÕES E TURISMO, which has a local guide, with a vast experience of the area and safe and comfortable 4x4 Land Rovers. You can meet and be mesmerized by the ecological sanctuary that is the national park, Parque Nacional da Lagoa do Peixe, and you can enjoy the magnificent lake, Lagoa dos Patos, the largest lake in Brazil. These tours include visits to the beautiful lighthouses, sand dunes, trails through native bush, ancient sambaquis left by the Indians and the most beautiful hidden spots of the region.

We plan the route according to your wishes and interest. On top of tours aimed at enjoying what the area has to offer, we provide specialized outings for photographers and bird watching.

Lagoa Expediçoes e Turismo offers routes that will blow you away. Offering thrills, while at the same time taking you on a ride through breathtaking scenery, letting you take in the environment in your own time.

Lagoa Expedições e Turismo offers other routes heading south, reaching right to the end of the peninsula at São José do Norte. There is a range of historical and cultural attractions.

The tour of the longest beach in the world goes from Cassino to Chuí and is a real adventure. Travel 220km of completely deserted and mesmerizing beach. Along the way you will see lone lighthouses like the Verga, Sarita, Albardão and at the end, the Lighthouse of Chuí, each with its unique beauty and greatness.

Along the beach there are remnants of old shipwrecks. Witness the strange phenomenon, where at one particular part of just a few kilometers there are many ships bunched together.
In the neighboring town of Mostardas you can see the famous arts and crafts and work with sheep wool using the old art of spinning and weaving on hand looms and spinning wheels. There are beautiful pieces including jackets, rugs, ponchos and Mostardas blankets. You may want to have a look at the historic centre of Mostardas with its colonial style houses from the original settlers of the Azores the impressive church, Igreja de São Luiz.

Visit the beautiful collection of miniature birds created by the artist Eloir da Silva. Perfect replicas of dozens of birds form the Parque Nacional da Lagoa do peixe.

Walking tracks

DUNES, 8km: Cross sandbanks, swamps and dunes on your way to the beach. It is a great area for observing water birds like the local duck, marreca.

FIG TREES: This is very close to Tavares. Travel by car to the west side of the Lagoa do Peixe, where you can watch the flamingos.

TALHA-MAR, 5km: You can observe the north part of the Lagoa do Peixe. It is a great spot to watch the black necked swam and capororocas (a very unique bird).

FLAMINGO, 17km: It connects Mostardas Lighthouse with the bar of the Lagoa do Peixe. Observe the many different species of birds, specially sterna, seagulls, gannets and more.

Camping, fishing and driving on the dunes is Prohibited within the Parque Nacional da Lagoa do Peixe.

Do not take anything. Animals, plants, rocks, fruits, seeds and shells are part of the environment and they must stay there.

Do not leave anything. All waste must be collected and taken away.

In October and November the ecological event, the Brazilian Festival of Migratory Birds takes place.
